SMDM Symposium on The Learning Healthcare System
Professor Brendan Delaney represented the TRANSFoRm Project at the 36th Annual Meeting of the Society for Medical Decision Making, held on 18-21 October 2014 in Miami.
A Symposium on The Learning Healthcare System: Using Big Data to Improve Systems and Advance Care in Communities was chaired by Prof Delaney and David Chartash, joint chairs of SMDM Medical Informatics Interest Group.
Prof Delaney also presented a talk during the Symposium on Electronic health records and shared semantics, describing work done as part of the TRANSFoRm project to establish standards for the integration of SYSTEMS for clinical care and research. These include clinical trial and cohort studies using research data collection at source within health record systems and challenges in the representation of information for clinical and research purposes.
